Peristeri GS and Ghana Small Forward Ben Bentil had a rare start for his side in a league loss over the weekend in Greece.
Bentil started for Peristeri as the Athens-based side lost 73-83 to lowly ranked Cretan Kings in the Greece A1 Basketball League.
Bentil-the first Ghana born player to be play in the NBA- starred in the loss recording an 11 point, 10 rebound double double.
The 6 foot 8inch player has been mainly used as the Sixth Man off the bench in his first year with Peristeri but performed well in his rare starting role.
He gathered nine of his ten rebounds on the defensive end and converted one of a trio of three point shots attempts. Bentil shot better from two point range scoring three of four attempts.
The former Dallas Mavericks player added two assists and a steal to his production as Jordan Callahan led Peristeri in scoring with 14 points.
Peristeri is next in action on May 12 against PAOK.
