Ghana Forward Ben Bentil played his part with a double double production but that proved not enough to avoid his Peristeri GS lose surprisingly to Cretan Kings in the Greek A1 Basketball League.

Peristeri lost 73-83 to kings in Round 25 of the 2018-2019 season this past weekend in a game the former was expected to beat the latter.

Bentil scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in 29 minutes as a starter; Bentil has been primarily used as a spark plug off the bench.

The Sekondi born Forward added two assists and a steal as he continues to contribute beyond his point tally in his second season playing in Europe.

Heading to the game, Peristeri ranked fourth in the 14 team league standings with a record of 16 wins and nine losses. The team has slipped to fifth place after the loss.

Kings on the other hand, ranked 12th prior to the game and remain in the same spot despite the win; Cretan has seven wins and 18 losses.

The next round of league games is scheduled for May 22.
