Sprite Ball Championship Coordinator Patrick Akoto is “heartbroken” after learning of the demise of Presbyterian Senior High School (PRESEC-Osu) Headmistress Barbara Norteye.
The shock news was confirmed late on Monday, April 15 after the veteran Educationist battled illness for a while before passing away.
PRESEC-Osu Sports Department Head Jonathan Bulley confirmed the news in a statement:
“I am with a heavy heart to announce the death of my Headmistress, Mrs. Barbara B. Norteye. She had been sick for some time now. She could not make it this time around”.
Mrs. Norteye played an instrumental role in transforming Osu-PRESEC into a model of excellence in education and sports.
During her reign, the school’s Male Basketball Team surprised the lot in Ghana’s most prestigious high school basketball competition-Sprite Ball- in 2018 thanks to a 25-22 win over Mfantsipim School in the final game.
Reacting to the news, Sprite Ball Coordinator Akoto stated, “Am heartbroken. May she find peace with the almighty God”. Akoto interacted with Mrs. Norteye on the Sprite Ball Trophy Tour prior to the 2019 edition.
