Basketballghana.com can confirm Presbyterian Senior High School (PRESEC-Osu) Headmistress Barbara Norteye has passed away.

She passed away in the late hours on Friday, April 12 after battling illness for some time. Reports trickled in but her demise was confirmed late on Monday, April 15.

The veteran Educationist was soft spoken and very hardworking endearing her to colleagues and all who worked with her before her shock death.

The sad was confirmed by Osu-PRESEC’s Sports Department Jonathan Bulley when contacted by Ghana’s biggest basketball portal.

Under Mrs. Norteye’s watch PRESEC-Osu grew into a respected school with impressive results in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

It was also under her watch, the school shocked the entire nation to win the 2018 Sprite Ball Championship beating record winners Mfantsipim School 25-22 in the final game.

The title remains Osu-PRESEC’s sole national high school basketball championship win till date and her involvement in the success was massive.

The late Headmistress was present for the 2019 edition held at the El Wak Stadium in Accra in January where Osu-PRESEC placed fourth. Basketballghana.com sends out its condolences to the Norteye Family and PRESEC-Osu.
