UG (blue) v Catholic
TTU (blue) v KTU

University of Ghana (UG) has clinched its second win in the quarterfinals of the 2019 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

UG beat Catholic University College, Ghana 41-28 for its second win in as many games in Group A to all but seal its place in the semifinals.

UG held a massive 25-6 lead at the end of the first half as Guards Emmanuel Wolff and Treasure Botchwey drained three point shots in an easy run out for the UG starters.

The starting lineup of the three time champions was replaced by members from the second unit who held the lead to clinch the win.

Catholic University had a better second half but a flat first half performance doomed the team early on after clinching its maiden quarterfinal win over Koforidua Technical University (KTU).

Takoradi Technical University (TTU) recovered from a 42-44 loss to UG to beat KTU 31-13 and get itself back into contention for a place in the semifinals.

TTU needs a win over Catholic University to secure a place in the next phase of the competition.
