Radford University College has a tough schedule to honour in its maiden quarterfinal appearance in the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.
The team has been drawn in Group B in the 2019 UPAC alongside two time winners Accra Technical University (ATU). Former silver medal winners Marshalls University College and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) round up the list of teams in the group.
Radford topped Zone 7 to qualify to the UPAC quarterfinals for the first time ever thanks to grabbing three wins in as many games in the preliminary stage. The highlight result was a 31-26 win over 2018 Zone 7 winners Ghana Technology University College.
In Group A, University of Ghana (UG) was drawn alongside Catholic University College, Koforidua Technical University and Takoradi Technical University.
The quarterfinals are scheduled for April 12 at UG’s Central Court and the top two teams in each group progress to the semifinals and potentially the final game on Saturday, April 13.
The 2019 UPAC Championship is sponsored by CAL Bank and MTN.
