The first Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship Reading Project was held successfully at the St. Kizito Roman Catholic School.

The event was held under the motto, “Read Today, Lead Tomorrow” at the school located in Nima, a suburb in Ghana’s capital, Accra earlier today.

Representatives from four institutions due to compete in the 2019 UPAC Quarterfinals were present to lead young pupils through reading sessions.

The young students interacted with student-athletes from Accra Technical University (ATU), University of Ghana (UG), Radford University College and Marshalls University College.

The UPAC Ambassadors also took time to encourage the younger ones to develop the habit of reading to be better students in school.

The contingent then presented books to the school’s library and promised to visit the school again. St. Kizito School Headmistress Victoria Hammond was grateful for the gesture.

Teams switch focus to the quarterfinals on Friday, April 12 at the UG Central Court with the semifinal games and final game set for Saturday, April 13 at the same venue.

The 2019 UPAC Championship is sponsored by CAL Bank and MTN.
