Ghana’s 3×3 Basketball National Team Coordinator James Ocloo has bemoaned the lack of financial support for the national teams.
He made this revelation in an interview on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports recently after leading the Under 18 sides to clinch bronze at the FIBA Young Lions Cup West in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Ghana placed third in the Boys and Girls categories respectively at the recently concluded games that had home side Ivory Coast win gold.
Despite encountering a host of difficulties including player injuries, inexperience and ill preparation, the West African nation’s contingent performed admirably.
Chief among the problems the team faced was financially related and Coach Ocloo addressed that in his interview stating, “For now am not getting support…with the Federation, we are still having issues up till now we don’t enough support from that. Once in a while we get some support from the (Federation) President”.
National Girls Champions-Oxford Heat- and Boys Champions-Vikings- represented Ghana in Ivory Coast.
