2019 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship Quarterfinalists will headline Ghana’s most acclaimed tertiary basketball competition’s Reading Project.
Basketballghana.com understands members from four of the eight qualified institutions to the quarterfinals are expected to visit the St. Kizito Catholic Primary School in Nima, a suburb in the West African nation’s capital, Accra to undertake the Project.
The Reading Project is an initiative aimed at encouraging young individuals to cultivate the habit of reading; “Read Today, Lead Tomorrow” is the Project’s motto.
The event takes place on Thursday, April 11 and representatives from only Accra based institutions in the knockout stage will participate in the Project’s first year.
Accra Technical University, Marshalls University College, University of Ghana and Radford University College have confirmed to lead St. Kizito pupils in reading sessions. Ghana’s biggest basketball portal gathers the UPAC contingent will donate books to the school.
The quarterfinal games in this year’s competition roll out on Friday, April 12 at UG’s Central Court with semifinal games and the final game set to be played on Saturday, April 13. This year’s UPAC is sponsored by CAL Bank and MTN.
