Takoradi Technical University (TTU) and University of Ghana (UG) will face off for the second straight year at the quarterfinal stage of the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.
TTU and UG have been drawn in Group A in this year’s competition alongside quarterfinal debutants Catholic University College and Koforidua Technical University.
UG’s arch rival Accra Technical University was drawn in Group B with Marshalls University College, Radford University College and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The 2019 Draw was conducted earlier today live on Kwese Free Sports and UG and TTU in the same group a year after both teams faced off.
In the 2018 matchup, UG beat TTU 64-37 en route to winning Group A after clinching wins over Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) and (KNUST).
TTU beat KNUST and GTUC 51-31 to place second in the group behind UG; both teams progressed to the semifinals. The 2019 UPAC Quarterfinals are scheduled for Friday, April 12 at UG’s Central Court with the top two teams in each group qualifying to the next stage.
Games in the latter stages of the competition will come off on Saturday, April 13. This year’s UPAC is sponsored by CAL Bank and MTN.
