The draw for the 2019 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC Basketball Championship took place earlier today on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports.

Accra Technical University (ATU) was drawn in Group B alongside Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Marshalls University College and Radford University College.

In Group B, 2018 winners University of Ghana (UG) was drawn alongside Takoradi Technical University (TTU), Catholic University College and Koforidua Technical University.

Group A has been generally described as the Group of Death due to the strong background of the teams. However, in last year’s draw, UG had the tougher group to contend with at the quarterfinal stage.

In 2018, UG played against KNUST, TTU and Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) while ATU was drawn against Sunyani Technical University (STU), All Nations University College and University of Education-Winneba (UEW).

Per the results of today’s draw, UG landed in the less tough group. The quarterfinals take place on Friday, April 12 at UG’s Central Court with a 9:00 AM start time.

Semifinal games and the final game are scheduled for Saturday, April 13 at the same venue. This year’s UPAC is sponsored by CAL Bank and MTN.
