Qualified institutions in the 2019 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship based outside Ghana’s capital, Accra are expected to arrive on Thursday, April 11.
The institutions get to compete in the first stage of the knockout phase on Friday, April 12 with semifinal games and final game slated for Saturday, April 13.
All games will take place at the University of Ghana (UG) Central Court to decide the winning institution in the West African nation’s biggest tertiary basketball competition.
Four of the eight qualified teams are located in regions spread over the country. Koforidua Technical University, Takoradi Technical University, Catholic University College and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) are expected to travel to Accra in the coming days.
The quarterfinalists are to be drawn into two groups with the draw happening live on Kwese Free Sports “HeadStart” at 7:30 am on Wednesday, April 10.
The 2019 UPAC Championship is sponsored by CAL Bank and MTN and is the sixth edition of the most compelling tertiary basketball tournament in Ghana.
