Defending league champions Suncity Braves rebounded from a 30-39 loss to Young Boys in the previous round to spank Barracks Scorpions 59-16.
The 43 point win for last season’s champions was in the balance despite having a 21-3 first quarter lead due to a competitive second quarter that had Braves lead 11-7.
The second half saw Braves get back its verve and attacked Barracks to clinch 12-3 and 15-3 third and fourth quarter leads to seal the convincing win and stay put at the top of the league standings.
