The quarterfinal list in the 2019 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship is complete after the conclusion of games at the preliminary stage.

Defending champions and three time winners of the Competition University of Ghana (UG) was the last team to qualify to the knockout phase.

UG topped Zone 8 after games in the zone were honoured on Saturday, April 6. UG progressed by winning the zonal title ahead of Regional Maritime University, Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and Central University.

UG beat Central University 35-17 in the deciding matchup after both games headed to the crucial game with two wins respectively.

The quarterfinals are due later this week on Thursday, April 11 and Friday, April 12 at UG’s Central Court. The semifinals and final game are to be played on Saturday, April 13.

Koforidua Technical University, Takoradi Technical University, Marshalls University College, Catholic University College, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology will compete in the quarterfinals.

Radford University College and two time winners Accra Technical University round up the list of qualified institutions. This year’s UPAC is sponsored by CAL Bank and MTN.
