University of Ghana (UG) has set up a big match against Central University to decide which team wins Zone 8 in the 2019 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.
Both teams have two wins apiece and the great magnitude of the game was apparent after UG demolished Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) 71-2.
The three time UPAC Champions showed no mercy to their next door neigbour with the Guerilla’s jumping on GIMPA right from the start.
At the end of the first half, UG led 31-2 at half time and continued to pound away and led 53-2 at the end of the third quarter.
A marathon of dunks marked UG’s display as GIMPA continuously gifted possession to their opponent moving the crowd into wild celebration.
Central beat Regional Maritime University 44-13 and Central University 33-19 respectively and need a win over UG to top the zone and qualify to the quarterfinals.
Regional Maritime and Central play in the penultimate game to decide which team places third.
