Regional Maritime University (RMU) is set to compete in the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship for the second time.
RMU made its debut in Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball championship in 2017 but missed out on participating in last year’s championship.
The Sakumono based institution is drawn in Zone 8 alongside three time UPAC winners University of Ghana (UG), Central University and Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
RMU is in action today at the UG Central Court to compete for a place in the quarterfinals of this year’s edition. This is the sixth edition of the UPAC Championship.
Regional Maritime has yet to progress to the quarterfinals and has a tough task in today’s competition to make its debut in the knockout phase. The quarterfinal games take place at UG on April 11 and 12.
UG plays Regional Maritime in the opening game today and the matchup between Central University and GIMPA follows immediately.
This year’s UPAC is sponsored by CAL Bank and MTN.
