All Nations (red) v Wisconsin
Wisconsin International University College has won this year’s Private Universities Sports Association Games (PUSAG) Male basketball Division.

The recently ended competition was held at the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium in Cape Coast with a healthy turn out of institutions for the multi sports event.

Wisconsin clinched the title thanks to a 17-16 win over Marshalls University College in the final game. Marshalls are two time winners of the competition.

Radford University College and Catholic University College finished in third and fourth place to round up the final standings in the division.

All four institutions recently participated in the more acclaimed Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

Strangely, Marshalls, Radford and Catholic University qualified from the respective zones into the quarterfinals of Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball Championship as Wisconsin missed out.

Koforidua Technical University qualified ahead of Wisconsin in UPAC’s Zone 1 and Coach Albert Djan attributed it to lack of adequate preparation.

Winning the PUSAG was a means to atone for the disappointment of failing to qualify for the quarterfinals.
