Defending Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I Champions Braves of Customs are scheduled to play in the opening round of the 2019 season.Braves play Adenta Leopards on Saturday, April 6 at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu as the second of three games to mark the start of the new campaign.

The league start was confirmed recently during a specially arranged clinic at the league venue where other matters about the league were extensively discussed.Braves opening matchup is quite a stern one considering how the tough opposition Leopards were in two games played last season. Leopards lost both games.

Ghana National Fire Service play Ghana Police Service in the first game of the season at 15:00 GMT with Tudu Magic set to take on Reformers of Prisons in the final game. Braves topped the league standings last season to clinch another league title before heading to Benin to compete in the FIBA Zone 3 Africa Basketball League (AfroLeague) Qualifiers. Braves missed out on progressing to the next stage however.

Ghana Police Service are defending champions in the Girls Division while last season’s Men’s Division II winners Adabraka CYO are due to compete in the elite division this season.
