Tema Heat has lost for the second time in two games in this year’s Tema Community Basketball League. The team got beaten 40-43 at the hands of Tema Community 2.

The game was one of three fixtures played out at the Tema Community 4 Court this past weekend and was the standout fixture in Week 2 of the 2019 campaign.

In the opening game, Rangers got a 35-34 win over Vikings to get its season off to a great start with victory over its Teshie rival. Like Heat, Vikings have lost in twice two games into the young season.

In the second game, Akatsi Rifles beat Sakumono Titans 48-33 to clinch its second straight win of the season. In the previous round, Rifles beat Tema Rockets 34-24 and continues to build on an impressive preseason outing where the team placed fourth in the BetWay Hoops Tournament.

Heat took a 19-9 first quarter lead against Community 2 after Fred Yeboah drained two three point shots with Guard Andrews Ayienab adding a couple of drives to the basket. C2 Guard Jeffrey Djimatey scored the opening shot in the game with a three pointer.

Heat committed a lot of turnovers in the second quarter but held on to a 23-15 lead. Nana Tuffour and Djimatey buried three pointers for C2 to close the deficit to three (28-31). Heat’s offense stagnated getting a sole three point.

Final score C2 43-40 Heat as C2 completed the comeback.
