Kings University College Center Thomas Cofie has expressed great satisfaction following the institution’s maiden appearance in the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

In an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com, Cofie called Kings maiden campaign in this year’s UPAC a “great experience”.

He made the statement in the aftermath of Kings University’s participation in Zone 7 at the Accra Technical University (ATU) in the past week.

Kings missed out on qualifying from the zone to the quarterfinals; Two time winners Accra Technical University topped the zone and progressed to the knockout phase.

Despite missing out on qualification Cofie was happy since his team finally got the chance to compete in Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball competition.

“UPAC is the greatest basketball championship every university student would like to play. We really wanted to play, we’ve been trying, the school has been trying to let us participate and as the opportunity has come, we are very happy and glad to be part of it. It’s a great experience.”

Kings lost 13-32 to ATU but recovered to beat Methodist University College 34-26.
