For a big man who doesn’t handle the ball a lot, Ghana Center Amida Brimah’s turnovers rate is quite on the high side and almost equivalent to that of a player who handles the ball more.
The 6 foot 11 inch shot blocking specialist Brimah is averaging 2.4 turnovers per game this season in his second year at Austin Spurs.
Amida turned the ball over on five occasions in Austin Spurs 111-116 loss to Agua Caliente Clippers in his last appearance in a NBA Gatorade League matchup.
Despite scoring 12 points in 18 minutes off the bench for the defending league champions, Brimah’s production was hit hard by his failure to protect the ball.
Brimah was a rebound shy of registering a double double in the loss to Clippers as he recorded nine rebounds and added two assists.
Ranked ninth in the Western Conference this season, Austin Spurs take on second ranked Rio Grande Valley Vipers later tonight. Spurs are on a three game losing streak in the league.
