After sealing its return to the FIBA World Cup, Ivory Coast gained the most places from Africa in the latest World rankings released.

The Elephants gained four places to move up to 64th in the rankings while Senegal gained two points to move to the 37th position.

Both countries sealed their qualification to the 2019 World Cup to be held in China over this past weekend in the final round of qualifiers held in Abidjan.

Nigeria, Angola and Tunisia are the remaining nations that will represent Africa in China in September against 27 other nations in the expanded format of the tournament.

Nigeria maintained its 33rd rank ditto Tunisia who stayed on the 51st spot but Angola dropped three spots to land in 39th position overall on the world rankings.

Russia’s qualification to this year’s World Cup moved the nation into the top 10 replacing Australia in the 10th spot. The top nine nations maintained the top nine spots with defending World Champions USA leading the pack.
