Regent University College of Science and Technology has been named as host of Zone 3 Games in this year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.
Basketballghana.com gathers the privately run tertiary institution will host the games at the preliminary stage for the first time ever.
This development represents Regent’s sharp rise in tertiary basketball since making its maiden appearance at the UPAC tournament last year.
The institution will host 2017 UPAC Silver Medalist Marshalls University College, KAAF University College and Pentecost University College.
Zone 3 qualifiers are set to play out on Saturday, March 16 with the winner progressing to the national stage where winners of other zones will converge for the knockout phase.
Regent sneaked into the 2018 edition as a late replacement for University of Cape Coast who pulled out prior to the qualifiers.
This year’s UPAC commences in Koforidua on Saturday, March 2 with Zone 1’s qualifying spot up for grabs between the likes of All Nations University College and Ho Technical University.
