Ho Technical University (HTU) and Koforidua Technical University (KTU) are set to feature in a competitive tertiary basketball competition for the second month in a row.
The duo recently competed at this year’s Ghana Technical Universities/ Polytechnics Sports Association (GHATUSA) Games earlier this month.
Neither progressed to the knockout phase of the competition won by Accra Technical University thanks to a 38-25 win over Takoradi Technical University.
However, Ho and Koforidua will be in action this weekend on Saturday, March 2 at the Pope John Senior High School and Junior Seminary in the 2019 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.
The UPAC is Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball competition and has 32 institutions competing in this year’s edition including Ho and Koforidua.
Both institutions are due to compete against All Nations University College and Presbyterian University College in Zone 1.
The winner of the zone qualifies to the national competition to be played in April. Unlike Ho and Koforidua, All Nations and Presby University are yet to compete in competitive basketball tourneys this year.
