Ivory Coast National Male Basketball Team Center Romeo Enan has congratulated the team for qualifying to the 2019 FIBA World Cup.

The Elephants sealed qualification to its first World Cup since 2010 thanks to a 69-49 win over Mali in front of home fans in Abidjan.

Enan, who played for the National Team at the 2017 African Nations Championship (AfroBasket) praised the Elephants for a good job stating:

“I would like to congratulate my team mates and the staff for the good job that they achieved. It was very difficult but not impossible” in an exclusive interview Basketballghana.com

Enan played and starred several years in Ghana for Accra Basketball League Champions Braves of Customs and Accra Technical University before moving to Tunisia to play for Dalia Sport Grombalia.

He was named Tertiary Player of the Year at the 2015 Ghana Basketball Awards after leading Accra Technical to its second Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball title.

The win over Mali was the Ivorians third straight win in the final round of qualifiers for China and the team clinched victories over Nigeria and Rwanda in the previous games.

Those wins proved enough to qualify Ivory Coast out of Group F alongside Nigeria and Senegal to the World Cup.

Angola and Tunisia qualified from Group E.
