Nungua Coldstore has retained the BetWay Hoops Tournament title after clinching a 27-25 win over Tema Community 2 earlier today at the Tema Community 4 Basketball Court.

By winning the second edition of the competition, Coldstore earns its second gold medal and maintains its rank as the sole winning team in the competition’s young history.

Shooting Guard Emmanuel Wolff sealed the win for Nungua in a very physical game that resulted in Community 2’s Player-Coach Richard Afedzie ejected.

Wolff converted a corner three point shot late in the game with his side down 24-25 but his attempt was surprisingly uncontested by Community 2.

After trailing 14-19 at the end of the first half, Forward Prince Owusu gave Community 2 after scoring consecutive baskets in the paint.

However, the late three point shot and Community 2 Point Guard Kofi Attafuah’s missed free throws sealed the win for Nungua Coldstore.

The winning team was handed a cash prize of GHC 2,500 and giant trophy, with C2 placing second and Francophone Stars winning bronze.

Stars beat Akatsi Rifles 32-25.
