The University of Ghana (UG) Male Basketball Team will play host to tertiary institutions today in an invitational basketball tournament.

The one day exercise takes place later today at the Central Court of Ghana’s premier University with the likes of University of Professional Studies (UPSA) expected to compete.

UG’s Male Team is a three time Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Champion and today’s event is geared towards preparing the team for the challenges in this year’s competition.

UG Coach Eric Ankamah made this statement in an interview on “The Arena” which airs on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports recently.

Ankamah stated, “We are preparing towards the UPAC and that is why we are organizing this tournament”. Team Captain Emmanuel Wolff flanked Coach Ankamah during the interview and offered a bit of insight into his side’s preparations for UPAC.

“We train almost everyday and there is also team training from 4 to 7 in the evening” he said in the interview. The competition will feature Female teams of the participating institutions in action.
