The 2019 BetWay Hoops Tournament takes place on Saturday, February 23 at the venue popularly known as the Chinese Court.

Old benches for spectators and players are being replaced with new ones and the playing surface is getting repainted. This is the latest phase of development at the venue that is gradually peaking in quality.

Eight teams are to participate in the one day community based basketball competition which is in its second year. Takoradi Technical University hosted the maiden edition last year.

All participating teams were drafted from the 2018 Tema Community Basketball League; only teams that featured in the playoffs were eligible to compete.

The roster is led by defending BetWay Hoops Champions Nungua Coldstore who double as reigning Tema Community Basketball League Champions.

Coldstore beat Tema Heat 2-1 in the Finals Series last year to clinch its second league title; that win came after a 48-17 win over 48-17 win over Oil City Destroyers.
