Reigning Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Champions University of Ghana (UG) has rolled out a series of preparatory games ahead of the 2019 UPAC according to information reaching Baskteballghana.com
The three time Champions of Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball competition is set to engage other institutions in friendly competition to fine tune their skills ahead of this year’s edition.
The Invitational Tournament takes place on Saturday, February 23 at UG’s Central Court and a handful of teams are expected to grace the games.
This year’s UPAC tips off on March 2 in Koforidua with games in Zone 1 to be played out involving reigning champions All Nations University College.
UG has won the prestigious UPAC in three straight years and is seeking a record extending fourth championship in a row.
However, the team’s preparations have been without warm up games following the non inclusion of basketball at the recently held Mini GUSA (Ghana University Sports Association) Games.
Main rivals Accra Technical University and Takoradi Technical University played in the GHATUSA-Ghana Technical Universities Sports Association) Games earlier this month.
