Africa’s representatives at the upcoming 2019 FIBA Under 19 World Cup have been drawn in tough groups in the competition that runs from June 29 to July 7 in Greece.

Mali and Senegal are representing the continent in the prestigious competition and have been drawn in Groups B and A respectively.

African Champions Mali featuring stand out Guard Siriman Kanoute are in Group B alongside defending world champions Canada, Latvia and Australia.

In Group A, the young Teranga Lions of Senegal are due to play record winners USA, New Zealand and Lithuania at the preliminary stage.

The draw was made recently and the African duo must finish in the top spots in the groups to progress to the quarterfinal stage.

Host Greece is in Group C alongside Argentina, Philippines and Russia while China, France, Puerto Rico and Serbia are in Group D.

Mali beat Senegal 78-76 in the African Championship Finals in front of home fans last year.
