The recently concluded 3×3 Basketball Under 18 qualifiers at the Accra Technical University (ATU) Court in Tudu was “Just the beginning” according to Coach James Ocloo.

The arranged qualifiers were to select representatives for Ghana at the upcoming FIBA Young Lions Cup in Abidjan, Ivory Coast next month.

Oxford Heat and Vikings emerged winners in the Girls and Boys Divisions respectively in the event that had 18 Boys Teams and four Girls Team participate.

Speaking to Basketballghana.com, 3×3 Basketball Coordinator Ocloo acknowledged the challenges the organizing team overcame to get to this point and stressed the major prospects in the sport.

“It-prospects-is good because this is just the beginning…it’s good for us. There is more to come there is Under 18, there is Senior Team and then there is the World Tour” he said.

Ghana’s reps will travel to Abidjan on March 29 and battle for the chance to represent Africa in Malaysia at the World competition.
