Contrary to reports of a possible swap of players to represent Ghana in Abidjan, Ivory Coast for the FIBA Young Lions Cup, Coach James Ocloo has stated that won’t be the case.
The 3×3 Basketball Coordinator made the statement in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com in the aftermath of the Ghana Under 18 3×3 Basketball Qualifiers over the weekend.
The qualifiers were played at the Accra Technical University in Tudu where teams battled for qualification spots in the Boys and Girls Divisions respectively.
Oxford Heat topped the Girls Division while Vikings topped the Boys Division and will represent Ghana at in Abidjan in the African tournament.
With chatter of a potential change in the respective playing unit’s personnel, Coach Ocloo reiterated members of the winning teams wont be changed.
“We are not going to change players, we cant change so the same guys who won and the same girls who won are going and we will take them through a little training” he said.
