Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary (POJOSS) has been reported as the host venue for the opening round of games in this year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

This year’s UPAC is due to launch later this month and set to tip off in early March. The competition runs through to mid April when the national games would be played in Ghana’s capital, Accra.

The school’s basketball court was used as a host venue in last year’s edition at the same stage following a major refurbishment by the Alma Mater led by CDH Financial Holdings Savings and Loans Limited Director Emmanuel Adu Sarkodee. .

POJOSS Court is fitted seats for primarily young enthusiastic spectators of the school that made for a great crowd in the 2018 divisional qualifiers held in the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua.

All Nations University College, Ho Technical University and Koforidua Technical University competed in the 2018 qualifiers. All Nations topped the division on goal difference.

All three institutions are expected to compete in a few weeks at POJOSS. Winners of eight divisions qualify to the national competition to battle for the title. University of Ghana are defending champions.
