Winners of the recently held Under 18 3×3 Basketball Qualifiers at the Accra Technical University (ATU) in Tudu are expected to travel to Abidjan, Ivory Coast to compete at the FIBA Young Lions Cup African Championship.
The winners will travel to the Ivorian city on March 29 this year Basketballghana.com can confirm after the anticipated qualifiers came to an end.
Oxford Heat and Vikings qualified as representatives for the West African nation after topping the Girls and Boys Divisions respectively of the competition organized over the weekend.
Heat recorded a 3-0 win over Lakers in the final and Vikings overcame a stubborn Team LAL side to win 10-7 in the Boys Division.
3×3 Coordinator James Ocloo made the announcement in an exclusive chat with Ghana’s leading basketball portal at ATU on Saturday.
The qualifiers had players below 18 years form teams and compete for the qualification slots available; 18 teams competed in the Boys Division and four teams competed in the Girls Division.
