2017-2018 NBA Gatorade League Champions Austin Spurs ended its campaign in this year’s FIBA Intercontinental Cup without a medal.
The team featuring Ghana Center Amida Brimah lost 59-77 to South American Champions San Lorenzo 59-77 in the third place game played at the Carioca 1 Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil this past weekend.
The competition was won by AEK Athens from Greece who represented Europe in the competition which run from February 15-17. Athens beat home side Flamengo 86-70.
Brimah registered a double double in Spurs second straight loss in the competition scoring ten points and gathering ten rebounds.
The Ghanaian defender played 29 minutes off the bench and added an assist and four blocks in his time on the court. He improved on his production from the previous game where he had seven rebounds, eight points and four blocks in a loss to Flamengo.
Jordan Green led all Spurs players with 18 points but was upstaged by San Lorenzo’s Dar Tucker who had 20 points in the game.
