The 2019 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Season will commence somewhere in March per reports reaching Basketballghana.com
The tentative starting point of the new season was agreed on at the ABL Annual General Meeting held over this past weekend at the Lebanon House Forecourt in Tudu.
This season’s league start date was among many topical issues discussed at the meeting which had club representatives and other stakeholders present.
Plans on extensive media coverage and getting sponsorship for the league were also discussed; financial issues have hampered the ABL for several years.
However, a specific date for the new league was not agreed on and teams have to wait for the official communication from the league board.
The upcoming season has Braves of Customs as defending champions in the Men’s Division I and Ghana Police Service as defending champions in the Women’s Division.
Men’s Division II winners Adabraka CYO won’t be able to defend its title it won last season since it gained promotion to the elite league.
