KTU (in white) beat Kumasi Technical University 23-7 to clinch bronze.

Koforidua Technical University (KTU) just won its first medal in basketball at the just ended Ghana Technical Universities / Polytechnics Sports Association (GHATUSA) Games.

KTU placed third to win the bronze medal in the Games Women’s Basketball Division after beating Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) 23-7 at the Accra Technical University (ATU) Court.

Koforidua dominated the third place matchup to clinch its first medal at the biannual games in basketball. Its Male Basketball Team however, missed out medals in the Men’s Division.

Speaking to Basketballghana.com, Guard Sandra Dorbil pointed out the difference making points behind her team’s surprise run in the competition.

“The secret this time was determination and disciplined. We were determined that we wanted to make it this time” she said.

KTU lost in the semifinals to Takoradi Technical University (TTU) who went on to beat host ATU 21-19 in the final game to lift the trophy.
