Bronze medalist KTU
KTU (in white) beat Kumasi Technical University 23-7 to clinch bronze.

Koforidua Technical University (KTU) Women’s Basketball Team performance at the 2019 Ghana Technical Universities / Polytechnics Sports Association Games was impressive according to Guard Sandra Dobil.

She made the statement in an exclusive chat with Basketballghana.com in the aftermath of the Games which ended over this past weekend.

KTU placed third in Women’s Basketball for the first time ever in the history of the multi sport competition falling behind winners Takoradi Technical University (TTU) and host Accra Technical University (ATU).

Despite missing out on the gold medal, Dobil was pleased with her team’s performance but was disappointed with KTU’s Male Basketball team missed out on a medal at the Games.

“I wouldn’t say I am disappointed, we are quite impressed…the only disappointment was from our boys. We were expecting them to take silver or a bronze (medal)” she said.

KTU failed to qualify to the Men’s Division semifinal which was won by ATU following a 38-25 win over TTU. Sunyani Technical University (STU) placed third.
