The 2019 Ghana Technical Universities / Polytechnics Sports Association (GHATUSA) Games Basketball event ended on Saturday, February 9 at the Accra Technical University (ATU) Court in Tudu.
ATU beat Takoradi Technical University (TTU) 38-25 to win the Men’s Division Final with Sunyani Technical University (STU) finishing third.
STU beat Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) 25-24 to win the bronze medal and all four institutions got a decent run out ahead of the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.
The quartet alongside Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU), Ho Technical University (HTU) and Koforidua Technical University (KTU) participated in the just ended competition.
This year’s UPAC is to commence later this month and end in April with 32 institutions from the three tertiary sects in Ghana eligible to compete.
The series of games for the GHATUSA contingent comes at a timely point in preparations for Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball competition-UPAC.
In the GHATUSA Women’s Basketball division, ATU lost its crown to TTU after suffering a 19-21 loss while Koforidua Technical University (KTU) placed third.
