This year’s Ghana Technical Universities / Polytechnics Sports Association (GHATUSA) Games Basketball Finals ended in a mixed bag of results for the finalists.
Accra Technical University (ATU) and Takoradi Technical University (TTU) faced in the Men’s and Women’s Basketball Finals played at ATU’s Court earlier today.
ATU lost 19-21 to TTU in the Women’s Final played first at the venue but ATU’s Male side registered a 38-25 win over Takoradi.
The results mean ATU’s long run atop the female division has come to an end with TTU as the new champions to beat at the next edition to be held in 2021.
In the Male Division, the story stays the same with regard to the winning team as ATU extended its reign as champions with a strong fourth quarter performance to erase an equally strong performance from TTU.
Sunyani Technical University (STU) placed third in the Men’s Division after recording a 25-24 win over Kumasi Technical University (KsTU).
KsTU suffered further heartache in the Women’s Division after suffering a 7-23 loss to Koforidua Technical University (KTU).
