Sunyani Technical University (STU) Sports Department Head Samuel Annor has stated the institution’s basketball team’s main aim is making a statement at UPAC.

He made the statement ahead of this year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship which commences in March.

His statement came ahead of Sunyani’s participation in the 2019 Ghana Technical Universities / Polytechnics Sports Association (GHATUSA) Games.

Sunyani competed in the biannual multisport competition at the Accra Technical University (ATU) and ended up in third place.

STU clinched a 25-24 win over Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) to clinch bronze as the team prepares for the competition it desires the most.

“We are looking beyond the GHATUSA our target is the UPAC” Annor in anticipation of an improved performance from his side in the upcoming edition.

STU reached the quarterfinals last year after winning the zonal competition ahead of University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR).

However, STU missed out on progressing to the semifinals and the team’s performance this weekend is indicative of the team’s preparedness for the 2019 UPAC.
