Koforidua Technical University (KTU) has clinched the bronze medal in this year’s Ghana Technical Universities / Polytechnics Sports Association (GHATUSA) Games after recording a 23-7 win earlier today at the Accra Technical University (ATU) Court in Tudu.
KTU beat Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) to place third in the Women’s Basketball Division ahead of the final game later this weekend at the same venue.
Koforidua led through the entire game and ended the first quarter with 5-2 lead and extended its lead to seven points (11-4) at the end of the first half.
Vanessa Donkor scored a three point shot amid the run and went on to produce a Most Valuable Player of the game performance after producing from deep to help her side clinch the win.
Forward Deborah Sarfo and Center Rashidatu Abubakari were equally instrumental in Koforidua’s top performance with the latter dominating the boards and the former pushing the pace.
KTU ended the third quarter with a 14-7 lead and finished off the tie scoring nine more points in the final quarter.
The final game between ATU and Takoradi Technical University (TTU) takes place on Saturday, February 9 at ATU’s Court at 7:00 GMT.
