Takoradi Technical University (TTU) Men’s Basketball Team run away with a comfortable 52-23 lead against Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) in the semifinals of the GHATUSA Games Basketball competition.
TTU clinched the big and booked a spot in the final game of this year’s Ghana Technical Universities / Polytechnics Sports Association Basketball event.
The matchup was the final semifinal played at Accra Technical University (ATU) earlier today. ATU beat Sunyani Technical University 29-20 in the first semifinal game.
TTU took a 14-5 first quarter lead against KsTU in the first quarter with TTU big man Dennis Antwi making big shots.
TTU stretched its lead to 26-12 at the end of the first half Mustapha Ahmed and Desmond Ampofo went on a scoring run for the Takoradi side. Ahmed delivered a thunderous dunk to punctuate a big quarter performance.
TTU’s Antwi slammed the ball home on a fast break to give his team a 36-14 lead early in the third quarter. Score ended 41-16 for TTU at the end of the quarter.
Despite good ball movement and good general play from KsTU, the Brandon Tettey led team couldn’t convert shots and is due to play Sunyani Technical on Thursday, February 7 for the bronze medal.
