A large contingent of quarter finalists at the 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship are set to compete in the GHATUSA Games semifinals tomorrow.
Accra Technical University (ATU), Sunyani Technical University (STU) and Takoradi Technical University (TTU) competed at last year’s UPAC.
All three institutions and Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) will battle it out for spots in the final game of the Ghana Technical Universities/ Polytechnics Sports Association (GHATUSA) Basketball competition.
Host and defending champions ATU take on STU in the opening game on Wednesday, February 5 at 7:00 AM at ATU’s Court in Tudu.
KsTU plays TTU in the second semifinal game at the same venue at 9:00 AM with TTU going into the game as Group C winners at the group stage.
Kumasi Technical failed to make the UPAC quarterfinals but TTU did and progressed to the semifinals of Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball tournament. TTU lost 37-52 to ATU in the semifinals.
STU missed out on a semifinal berth after losing 17-48 to ATU.
