Ghana Technical Universities/ Polytechnics Sports Association (GHATUSA) Games Technical Committee Chairman Princeworth Anane has called for support for the multisport competition.
He made the call following the commencement of this year’s competition at Accra Technical University (ATU). This is the first edition of the games under GHATUSA since previous editions were known as GHAPSA (Ghana Polytechnics Sports Association) Games.
The 2019 edition of the biannual event runs from Friday, February 1 and ends on Sunday, February 10 with the Prisons Headquarters Court in Cantonments as one of many auxiliary venues.
Speaking about the event to BusinessGhana, the long time ATU Sports Head bemoaned the lack of support for the games saying, “So far we are using the contributions from the institutions to organize the games, but we still need sponsorships from corporate bodies and individuals, to boost our efforts”.
ATU was the overall winner at the last games held at Bolgatanga Polytechnic in 2017 and won gold medals in Men’s and Women’s Basketball respectively.
The likes of Takoradi Technical University are competing in the aforementioned events.
