The Ghana Technical Universities / Polytechnics Sports Associations (GHATUSA) Games has been officially opened. The Games opened earlier today.

Accra Technical University (ATU) is hosting the multi sport competition hitherto known as Ghana Polytechnics Sports Association (GHAPSA) Games.

ATU is the defending champion in the Men’s Basketball category and is heavily tipped to clinch another title despite the presence of top contender Takoradi Technical University (TTU).

However, Sunyani Technical University (STU) ranks as one of the top contenders for the title and its contingent arrived in Accra this morning.

STU plays Tamale Technical University in its first game in the competition on Monday, February 5 at the ATU Court in Tudu.

This was confirmed by STU’s Head of Sports Samuel Annor who made an appearance on premier basketball show “Courtside” earlier tonight with Coach Andrew Quansah.

After impressing in last year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship, STU is expected to have a deep run in the tournament ahead of the 2019 UPAC in March.

ATU opens the competition with a game against Bolgatanga Polytechnic.
