Coach Hashim Brimah with ATU Female Team
Defending Basketball Champions of the Ghana Technical Universities / Polytechnics Sports Associations (GHATUSA) Games is set to be involved in the opening games of the competition.

Accra Technical University (ATU) won gold in Male and Female Basketball in the last edition of the multi sport tournament then known as Ghana Polytechnics Sports Association (GHAPSA) Games.

The 2019 GHATUSA Games is due to commence later today at ATU with the basketball event set to tip off later on Sunday, February 4.

ATU’s Male Basketball Team is scheduled to play Bolgatanga Polytechnic at 7:00 GMT while ATU’s Female Team takes on Koforidua Technical University later on Sunday at 14:00 GMT.

The Men’s game is to be played at ATU’s Court but the Female’s matchup comes off at the Prisons Headquarters in Cantonments, Accra.

ATU, Takoradi Technical University (TTU) and Sunyani Technical University (STU) are tipped to battle for the title in the Men’s Division. All three are expected to compete in the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship in March.

TTU and ATU are the favorites in the Female Division.
