Teams representing Technical Universities and Polytechnics are expected to arrive for the 2019 GHATUSA (Ghana Technical Universities / Polytechnics Sports Association) Games.

This year’s Games are due to commence on Friday, February 1 with Accra Technical University (ATU) hosting the multi sport competition.

The Accra Sports Stadium and El Wak Stadium have been fixed as auxiliary venues foe the competition; both venues are set to host track and field events and football.

Student-Athletes will compete in disciplines including basketball, taekwondo, tennis, badminton, volley ball and handball.

Various institutions are expected to arrive in Ghana’s capital, Accra and settle in ahead of the opening ceremony on Friday.

ATU are favorites to again dominate the Games especially in basketball where the premier Polytechnic turned Technical University have won several times.

The institution has produced three winners of the Ghana Basketball Awards Most Valuable Player Award in the Male Division.

Takoradi Technical University and Sunyani Technical University are expected to challenge ATU in basketball.
