The “3×3 Young Lions Cup West” is a FIBA approved development project that was launched last year with the 3×3 basketball competitions set to be organized in twelve West African countries.
The Young Lions Cup started in 2017 in Botswana and involved several Southern African nations including Zambia, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
Players selected to represent nations in Male and Female Categories will converge in Ivory Coast’s capital Abidjan and compete from March 29-31 this year.
The event will coincide with the grand opening of the FIBA Africa Office in Abidjan. The journey to complete Africa’s House of Basketball started two years ago and is set to end in a few months.
Trials to select under 18 years to feature for Ghana was planned to conclude later today at the Accra Sports Stadium with the program originally planned to commence on Saturday, January 26.
However, the trials were called due to administrative reasons and a new date is yet to be announced.
