Ghana Forward Ben Bentil was in action for Peristeri GS in the Greece A1 Basketball League over the weekend but missed out on a win.
Peristeri lost 79-86 to Promitheas to fall in its third straight league game of the season. After starting the season in fine note winning 10 of 12 games, Peristeri has lost in three consecutive games.
The team’s record stands at 10 wins in 15 games and the Athens based club has dropped from third to fifth in the league standings.
Bentil scored 10 points and recorded three steals and a rebound in 17 minutes off the bench. He converted four of seven attempted free throws but went scoreless from three point range.
In first season in Greece, the first Ghana born player to play in the NBA is averaging 10 points per game after having short stints at clubs in France, China and Spain.
Promitheas rode on the back of a balanced game to clinch the win with just three players scoring in double figures. On the other hand, Point Guard Gray Stevens game leading 31 point mark didn’t end up in a win.
